Our Approach

CommunARTy works with you to adventure beyond the average ‘art class’

CommunARTy believes there are 3 important aspects in artmaking:

Experiences that inspire creating art

Experiences and learning in the creating processes, and

The artwork that is made

(as well as being able to share it with other people if we wish!)

Rather than simply teaching a recipe to make a particular piece of art, CommunARTy understands the longer-term benefits of inspiring and supporting you to create your own unique artworks, while teaching you practical, transferable skills.

CommunARTy understands that when we create, we:

  • Discover, engage and connect with the world in new ways
  • Actively explore with our senses
  • Think, problem-solve and develop new understandings
  • Experiment with diverse ways to express ourselves and practise communicating

  • Learn more about ourselves, relating with others and participating in communities
  • Practise and extend our skills, including fine motor, practical and social skills
  • Increase our confidence, pride and feelings of fulfilment
  • Improve our wellbeing
  • Enjoy ourselves!

CommunARTy works with people to achieve these personal and social lifelong learning aims, while creating unique artworks.
